An Artist’s Adventure
The Artist’s Way is the bestselling book by Julia Cameron. This book takes you on a 12 week course in discovering or perhaps rediscovering your creativity. Julia recommends that the course be under taken in a “cluster”, as doing the course work can be quite confronting and requires a weekly “debrief” with others on the same path.
I have undertaken the course three times; once on my own and twice within a group of lovely kindred spirits. I wholeheartedly believe I got so much more out of the process, sharing the experience with others and would never do the course alone again. I also met people I still keep in contact with today!
I would like to run the course again towards the end of May. This amazing course ran for the first time through Unity Studios at the later part of last year.
The Artist’s Way follows a week by week theme, according to the chapters in the book; safety, identity, power, integrity, possibility, abundance, connection, strength, compassion, self-protection, autonomy and faith. It is also advised that you do the course with a copy of the book, (RRP $27.95-$31.99 for hardcopy, Kindle $13.06, iBook $23.99).
In accordance with Julia’s recommendations, the gathering should be no shorter than 2 hours. This being the case, we will meet to discuss our week, participate in some creative and performing arts and personal development activities then introduce the next weeks theme and chapter.
I am excited to be offering The Artist’s Way, as “An Artist’s Adventure” through Unity Studios.
“When signing up for The Artist’s Way I had no idea what to expect. I’ll be eternally grateful for being given the opportunity to be a part of something life changing. The course opened my eyes to so much I didn’t know about myself, it’s an amazing opportunity of self development and has taught me many methods of how to deal with everyday events in a more productive way. Attending the course introduced me to some amazing ladies, I now call friends. I look forward to attending the next session and seeing what more I can gain from the experience a second time around.” – Rachel
“Having a group of people to work through The Artist’s Way with gave me inspiration and drive to really engage in the 12 week process.” – Rachel
“Highly recommend Unity Studios for keyboard/piano lessons. Both my primary school aged children received tuition and they thoroughly enjoyed it! Fun, kind, caring, atmosphere to learn in.” – Alison
“The Drama workshop I took this term is taught very much like the courses taught during school. The fact that we have a variety of ages within the class provides a learning opportunity for the younger students. It is a comfortable space to be apart of, as all of the students are seeking the same sort of mentoring.” – Anna
“I took my 10 month old and 3 year old to the Busy Bees workshop. They both loved it, especially the songs and instruments. Even my 3 year old joined in when previously she’s resisted joining in with group activities. Very happy!” – Ulina
“Thank you, Cassandra, for the most exhilarating and enjoyable course, “Ukulele for Beginners”. You provided us with many avenues to explore and much insight into this under-estimated but wonderful little musical instrument…and we had fun!” – Ann
