Jack Buckley is a self taught Sydney based artist exploring the natural and man-made world through complex illustrations.
With a strong desire to express the imaginative world within, Jack’s work reflects a summation of years of personal progress.
His art began as high school doodles and has evolved into professional illustrations through immersing himself in the world of art, making contact with artists and art groups, and hours of practice. A key interest in architecture is apparent in the myriad of buildings present in these illustrations, primarily focusing on Japanese and European styles. Coming later was a development of incorporating his love of the natural world into these works; most often through insects, birds and plants. The results are surrealist eye-catching illustrations, mostly in fine line pen but sometimes using coloured inks, exploring the way in which nature and architecture blend together.
