Busy Bees: School Readiness Program Penrith 

This school readiness pathway at Unity Studios, Penrith designed for children aged 4–7 to build confidence, social skills and early learning foundations through music, movement and guided play.

Returning in Term 2, 2026, Busy Bees has been thoughtfully redesigned to support children preparing for and transitioning into Primary School.

First launched in 2016, Busy Bees is part of an established education pathway with over 10 years of experience supporting young children to develop communication, confidence and social skills in a supportive small group learning environment.

Developed and delivered by qualified educators, the program is informed by research and designed to support children in building the skills they need to confidently begin and engage in school life.

Program Structure

Both the Social Skills and Music & Movement sessions are combined into one comprehensive program, designed to support children in building confidence, communication and school readiness skills.

  • Small group learning environment – strictly capped at 8 children per group
  • Adult participation required
  • Structured, supportive environment designed for young learners

Busy Bees Music & Movement (Ages 4–7)

Busy Bees Social Skills Sessions (Ages 4–7)

55 minutes

Designed to support:

  • Social confidence
  • Peer interaction
  • Turn-taking & communication
  • Emotional regulation
  • Transition into school routines

Fees & Enrolment

  • $27.50 per session
  • Double sessions: $55
  • Full course (16+ hours): $440 total
    • $220 due 8 May
    • $220 due 30 July

Be School Ready Assessment (Ages 4–7)

Our Be School Ready Assessment has been carefully developed by an Early Childhood Educator, Primary Teachers and Learning Support Teachers.

This assessment provides insight into your child’s readiness for school by identifying strengths and areas for development across:

  • Early literacy and numeracy
  • Communication and comprehension
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Social skills
  • Attention and learning behaviours
  • Confidence in structured environments

It’s a valuable starting point for families wanting clarity and direction before beginning Primary School.

Foundation – Numeracy & Literacy Support

Our Foundation program supports children in building essential numeracy and literacy skills in a way that is engaging, structured and tailored to their needs.

Available as:

  • Face-to-face sessions
  • Non face-to-face (online or supported learning) options

This program is ideal for children who would benefit from additional support alongside Busy Bees to strengthen early academic skills and confidence.

Unity Music – “Mummy/Daddy/Grandparents & Me” Workshops

A beautiful introduction to music for younger children and their families.

These workshops offer:

  • A shared learning experience with a parent or carer
  • Early exposure to rhythm, sound and musical play
  • A fun and engaging environment to build connection and confidence

Children can explore:

  • Keyboard
  • Ukulele
  • Vocals
